JAMMU, Apr 2: The Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Department of Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar conducted an interactive session of senior citizens and patients undergone joint replacement surgery at Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar.
During the program the patients who have been operated for joint replacement surgery, were told how to take care of their implanted joint. More than 200 senior citizens of the city and patients operated for joint replacement surgery attended the program.
The purpose of the event was to provide ex-patients a platform to interact with their doctors informally and learn about the advancements in the area of treatment they have undergone.
On the occasion, Dr Mohit Arora (Orthopaedician and Joint Replacement Surgeon, Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar) educated the audience about the early treatment of arthritis, preventions to be taken care of and latest techniques of joint replacements surgery to increase the life of the joints that doctors are implanting.
Dr Arora said that “Tremendous advances have been made in joint replacement over the past few decades that have made this surgery a safe and viable option for a greater number of patients suffering from severe joint pain and misalignment due to arthritis.
He also shared his experience on latest joints replacement techniques being used at Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar making it state-of-the-art centre for joint replacement surgeries in the region. The old patients shared their experiences as how their lifestyle has improved after undergoing this surgery.
Also present, Dr Arun Chopra (Director Cardiology) and Dr Pinak Moudgil (Facility Director) commended Dr Arora for replacing more than 250 plus joints in the year 2013 covering patients from all over Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
