JAMMU, Apr 26: Former MLA and senior Congress leader Ashok Kumar has opposed the Central Government’s decision of freezing the hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of Central Government employees and pensioners till July 2021.
“It is no appropriate decision and good message for the Government employees, armed forces people and pensioners as these employees are the engines of the Government,” the former MLA said in a statement. He said these Government employees have their limited budget and freezing their DA and DR is a dent on the capabilities of ruling Government as many low income Government employees are already facing financial crisis due to inflation.
Ashok further said that due to increase in prices of essential services commodities inflation rate in country is in upward trend. Thus, it is not necessary to impose such hardships on Government employees. These employees are fighting day and night against the Coronavirus risking their and their families’ lives and at such times instead of giving them more incentives Central Government is heavily freezing on their financial budget.
