RAMBAN, Apr 16: Former MLA and senior Congress leader, Ashok Kumar today urged upon Lieutenant Governor that SRO-202 should be revoked immediately as the same SRO is totally discriminatory and completely against the qualified youth of J&K.
He said the same SRO was implemented by erstwhile Government in 30 June, 2015 and under this a person appointed for the Government services shall be on probationary period for the five year. Even as Law Commission of India declared that the probation period should not be more than two years but the probation period up to years in J&K is totally injustice to the qualified youth.
He said such a ruthless government policy against the youth of Jammu and Kashmir is completely inadequate and must be revoked.
Kumar further said that after the abrogation of 370 Article, the SRO-202 now seem meaningless and had become illegal as per the doctrine of constitution of India. Moreover, Supreme Court judgement of equal pay for equal work has become incoherent in this context as employees appointed under the same are shattered and helpless now.
He urged upon the Lieutenant Governor that the revocation of the SRO-202 should be done without any delay and vacancies for different posts should also be announced and fulfilled on priority basis as the unemployment is increasing with an alarming rate.
