Former FTII Chairman calls on Dr Jitendra

NEW DELHI, July 20: Former Chairman, Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and actor of “Mahabharat” fame, Gajendra Chauhan, who is remembered for his role as “Yudhishthira” in the epic serial, today called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh and discussed wide range of issues related to art, culture and national concern.
Chauhan gave a detailed resume of his contribution as Chairman of FTII. He claimed that during his tenure in the Institute, there was remarkable improvement in the academic atmosphere and the environment in the Campus. He also quoted CAG Report indicating that the institute had shown remarkable improvement for the better.
Chauhan also claimed that during his brief tenure at FTII, he had introduced new syllabus, which was pending for the last 15 years. He also introduced “Walk-in Interviews” to fill up the vacancies in the faculty. In addition, he said, digitization of film making was done and two old studios in the campus were repaired and renovated with new equipment.
Gajendra Chauhan also shared his views on current political and social scenario in the country. He was full of praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi for having introduced a new era of transformation of India in the last four years.
Dr Jitendra Singh appreciated the multifarious work done by Gajendra Chauhan. He asked him to keep in touch in future as well, to offer his inputs and views on different subjects.
