Former ADG DD Ashok Jailkhani passes away

NEW DELHI, Aug 29: Ashok Jailkhani former Additional Director General Doordarshan breathed his last this morning at Delhi due to cardiac arrest after a brief illness.
A noted broadcaster and theatre director, he was first Director of Doordarshan Kendra Jammu and was instrumental in its establishment.
Jailkhani started his career as Producer in Doordarshan Kendra , Srinagar in 1973 and is credited with producing and directing several popular serials and plays. He was popular among fraternity of artists.
After serving as Director of Doordarshan Kendra Jammu, he was elevated to Additional Director General Doordarshan where from he retired in 2013.
Several cultural and broadcasting organisations and theatre personalities including Bihari Kak, J K Bezan Kuldeep Saproo and others have recalled his service to the broadcasting sector and have expressed deep sorrow over his death.
Ashok Ogra, noted broadcaster has expressed shock and described Jailkhani as a trail blazer in his field.
