Forest Guard found dead

POONCH, May 25: The police recovered dead body of an employee of Social Forestry wing of the Forest Department in Surankote area of Poonch district today.
Report said that two employees spotted the body of their colleague lying inside in the adjoining closure near the premises of Social Forestry department at Bachian Wali Top in Surankote under mysterious conditions and informed police.
Confirming the incident, DFO Social Forestry Department Poonch Naveed Iqbal identified the deceased as Abdul Hamid, son of Sattar Mohammed of Kalai in Poonch. He said that Hamid was working as a Guard (daily wager) in the department and was on duty.
A police officer told that soon after receiving the information, SHO Surankote Anil Sharma with his team immediately reached the spot and recovered the body. The police team examined the body and the spot an after collecting circumstantial evidence, shifted it to Surankote hospital for postmortem.
SHO said police was working on all the aspects. He said no apparent marks of violence were found on the body. All necessary formalities were completed and then body was handed over to the family after completion of necessary formalities including the postmortem, he said.
He said the probe has been initiated under 174 CrPC to ascertain the actual cause of death.
