Srinagar, May 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department has made Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance compulsory in all its offices across Kashmir to strengthen monitoring of employee attendance and improve administrative accountability.
According to an official circular issued by the Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Kashmir, all subordinate offices have been directed to immediately install and operationalise the L1 RD Aadhaar-Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).
The circular stated that the decision has been taken in compliance with directions issued by the Administrative Department through a communication dated July 24, 2024.
“The L1 RD system will serve as the primary mode for recording daily attendance and manual attendance records will no longer be entertained,” the circular said.
It further mentioned that the upgraded biometric system comes with advanced hardware-level encryption and enhanced security features in accordance with UIDAI security protocols to ensure protection and integrity of biometric data.
The circular also directed all Conservators of Forests (CFs) and Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs) to ensure that officials mark their attendance daily through the designated biometric devices. (KNC)
