Srinagar, Sept 2: Employees of J&K State Forest Corporation today protested and demanded that their pending salary of the last 4 months must be released without any further delay.
They said that the Government has been ignoring their plight as they have been time and again bringing the issue into the notice of the Government but to no avail.
“Even in the pandemic, we were forced to come out on roads and protest against the indifference of the Government. The higher-ups do not care for the employees who are demanding that their problems must be resolved once for all,” Bashir Ahmad Bhat President Forest Corporation Employees Union said.
He said that the Central Government has released a sum of Rs 230 Crores as ‘Grant and Aid’, however, the same has not been released so far in favour of the employees who have been left to fend for themselves.
“Our management has taken up with the issue with the Government, but it seems that the bureaucrats in the Government are least bother about us and are not taking steps to put an end to our issues,” he said.
The leadership of the employees impressed upon the Government that there is a need for resolving the long pending issues being faced by the workers and on top of it, there is a need for releasing the salary of the last 4 months.
“We are appealing to the Government to take measures to resolve the issues faced by us and at the same time take steps to release the pending salary in favour of the employees,” he said.
He gave an ultimatum of one week to the Government to fulfil the demands failing which the employees, he said, will be forced to take come again on the roads.
“If the Government fails in fulfilling the demands of the Government, then on September 9, we will be forced to protest at the Press Enclave and we will press for our demands with even more intensity,” he said.
