15 get DG’s Commendation Disc

JAMMU, June 29: Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Force Jammu sector G J Singh today said that force men were capable to face any challenge and deployed in large number to provide protection to Shri Amarnath pilgrims and Langars from Jammu to the holy cave shrine.
Talking to media-persons at the sidelines of investiture ceremony held at Ban Talab headquarters of the Force here today, the IG said that protection to lakhs of pilgrims visiting Shri Amarnathji shrine in Kashmir from various parts of the country was the prime responsibility of the CRPF. He said his area of responsibility is up to Shaitani Nallah in Banihal area from Jammu. Though Army and State police was also deployed at several locations but CRPF is primarily involved in over all protection to Yatris and Langars besides along the National Highway.
“The CRPF was alert and capable of facing any challenge. Annul pilgrimage was going on smoothly so far and it is hoped that with the grace of Lord Shiva, it will go on smoothly”, the IG maintained.
Earlier, the IG CRPF in a function organized in connection with Investiture Ceremony honoured 15 officers and other ranks with DG’s Commendation Disc and Letter. DIGP, Group Centre Ban Talab, N K Yadav and Commandants of various CRPF’s operational units were also present.
Those honoured on the occasion included DIGP Jammu (Ops) S S Dogra, Manoj Kumar Sharma Comdt 187 Bn, Dr A K Gupta CMO (SG) of 166 Bn, P L Verma 2 IC 84 Bn, Suresh Singh Tomar D/C 72 Bn, SM/PS Surender Singh of office of IGP Sgr, SI/GD Anil Kumar Singh 160 Bn, HC/GD Bodh Raj of 6 Bn, HC/GD Pardeep Kumar of 74 Bn, HC/GD Ramesh Chand of 74 Bn, HC/TLR Shiv Charan Rawat of 126 Bn, HC/GD Rajesh Kumar of JKZ Hq and CT/BB Rankit Singh of 76 Bn CRPF.
