Sir,
Now-a-days adulteration in our day-today eating items has posed threat to life kingdom across the country. Adulteration in Maggi the commonly used item by the people has exposed the Nestle India to a large extent. We cannot here rule out that other eating items are safe for our daily consumption. Take the case of cold drinks and other readymade juices which are full of sugar content that leads to obesity in our children who become diabetic early. Not only this our fruits are artificially ripened. Our mangoes, banana, papaya are not spared unless calcium carbide is used. Erythosine is injected for colouring the product. These chemicals are dangerous for our health. We are not safe as the present situation goes with regard to our food safety. Lastly on 7th of April 2015 W.H.O. conference took place where in great stress was laid on food safety. The slogan was farm to plate make food safe. Every year world health organisation does meet on 7th April for the purpose but one is at a loss to understand that things on the ground look otherwise. Things are not going properly and the system needs overhauling. Food inspectors have to be vigilant and proper checking has to be carried on without any break. We have food safety act that can make things better if the same is exercised properly for the benefit of the people by the concerned agencies. Our masses should rise to the occasion and cooperate with the Govt. in fighting the menace. Govt should punish those found hand in glove in this evil and are hell bent upon spoiling health of the people.
Yours etc…
