JAMMU, June 24: Food Safety wing of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today challaned 14 food establishments for violating of Food Safety rules.
A Food Safety team led by Dr Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety, Jammu Municipal limits on the direction of Commissioner, FDA J&K, randomly inspected various food establishments situated at Bahu Plaza, Gandhi Nagar, Railway station, Bakshi Nagar, Karan Nagar, Janipur and challaned 14 food establishments under unsanitary and unhygienic conditions and other contraventions of FSS Act 2006.
Amongst the challaned were M/s Grill Inn SD Enterprises, M/s Momo Hut India Private Limited, M/s Bombay Special Pav Bhaji, M/s My Burger Lab located at North Bahu Plaza Jammu, M/s Krishana Bakers (Bakshi Nagar), M/s Amit Tea Stall and Vaishno Dhaba, M/s Sam-N-Sam Fast Food & Dhaba, M/s Novika Dhaba located at Maheshpura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar, M/s DL Heer, Janipur, M/s Dhaba.com and Vaishno Bhojanalya located at Railway Station Jammu, M/s Versatile Fast Food, Gandhi Nagar, M/s Balaji Shop, Gandhi Nagar and M/s Hotel Jammu Ashok.
Moreover, samples of cooked foods were lifted from Hotel Hari Niwas Palace, Hotel Jammu Ashok, Hotel Fortune Rivera, TRG Jammu and other prominent food establishments of Jammu City and sent to the Food Testing Laboratory Jammu for ascertaining standard of purity.
The Food Safety team directed the food business operators to improve the infrastructures as well as to maintain hygiene at all levels to avoid cross contamination. Further, all the food vendors were warned not to prepare unhealthy food otherwise legal action shall be initiated against thems.
The team was comprised of Food Safety Officers Ajay Khajuria, Daleep Singh, Hans Raj Andotra and Pervaiz Ahmed.
