It is quite heartening to know that the State High Court has take strong notice of adulterated food in the market, and has come heavily on food processing companies for not adhering to food safety standards.
It may be mentioned here that the Government is aware of adulterated food in the market. People too have, time and again drawn the attention of the authorities towards this menace. At times, Government constituted flying squads to survey market, but it was all perfunctory in nature. Taking lax nature of Government in mind, the food processing units, halwais and others in the trade never cared about the health of people, but are involved in money minting.
It is also shocking that the Government does not have modern equipments and tools to monitor food adulteration. Now, when the High Court has taken cognizance of the matter, hope things would improve for the better and people do not have to spend much on medicine on account of food adulteration.
