Following Virbhadra’s remarks against AICC,  high command calls Asha Kumari

 

SHIMLA:  Congress secretary and Punjab unit in charge Asha Kumari was called to New Delhi by the party high command following continued attack by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on state Congress unit and publicly slamming All India Congress Committee for deviating from the party trends.

   Talking, state Congress spokesman Naresh Chauhan said there was no move to replace HPCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as party state in charge Sushil Kumar Shinde made it clear that the party would fight election unitedly under incumbent HPCC chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Mr Singh as Chief Minister.

    Ms Kumari, who is AICC secretary and AICC in-charge of Punjab beside member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Dalhousie, is expected to be remain at party headquarters in Delhi, Mr Chauhan said.

     ”I donot think that  Ms Kumari was called to Delhi following the rift between Mr Singh and Mr Sukhu in the state however she is expected to be in Delhi and likely to be called after AICC vice-president Mr Rahaul Gandhi back home,” he said.

   There is no official confirmation that Ms Kumari would be elevated to party Congress chief replacing Mr Sukhu.

   Under the party inchargeship of Ms Kumari, Congress win Assembly election in Punjab, if  she get  replace, it would be no set back to her as assembly election is on head and the party is concentrating in Himachal, the HPCC spokesman observed.
