JAMMU, July 24: A folk tales book for children in Dogri entitled ‘Kattha Sunobhai Kattha’ edited by Dr Sunil Sharma and co-edited by Dr Manoj Heer, Rakesh Chalotra, Babita Kumari, Ritu Raj, Parduman Singh and Shiv Khajuria was released today by Prof R D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu in its office chamber.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof RD Sharma said that it is the need of hour to produce children literature in Dogri language and Dogri Bal Manch is trying its best to overcome this problem.
While speaking on the occasion, the convener of Dogri Bal Manch, Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas said, “This is the collective effort of our organization to bring children literature in the hands of every child of Dogra region”.
The financial support for the book was provided by Sidharth Dogra of Jammu Links, GD Goenka Public School, Jammu and Airtel.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar, Jammu University, Dr Vijay Dev Singh, Director, DDE, Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director, DIQA, Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Dr Sushma Sharma, Dogri Department and Kailash Mohan Bhanotra, PhD Scholar.
