JAMMU, Sept 13: A delegation of Federation of Industries (FoI) Jammu led by its chairman Lalit Mahajan held interaction with Parvez Iqbal Khateeb, Commissioner Commercial Taxes Department and presented a memorandum in respect of various issues related to the Industrial sector of J&K in presence of Anu Malhotra, Additional Commissioner (Adm) and PK Bhat, Additional Commissioner (Tax Planning).
While welcoming Parvez on his appointment as Commis-sioner Commercial Taxes, Mr Mahajan highlighted various issues related to the Industrial sector.
They stressed for relief to Industrial sector of J&K under GST regime and provision of adequate staff at Lakhanpur check post for 24X7 clearance of Industrial goods. They also demanded establishment of a dedicated Green Channel bay at Lakhanpur exclusively for Industry with single window clearance of goods by Toll Tax & Commercial Taxes Department to minimize the delay in the clearance of Industrial goods, to introduce self certification mechanism for the import of spares by medium and large scale industrial units.
The FoIJ members further stressed for exemption to Industrial sector from the preview of Service Tax on the employment of labour through contractors, to exempt Industrial sector from penal interest for the non- submission of “C”- forms for the inter-state sale
Khateeb gave patient hearing in respect of the issues raised by the Federation and assured the delegation to resolve the issues on priority basis.
The meeting was also attended by Jatinder Aul, Vijay Aggarwal, Ajit Bawa, Romesh Badyal (Co-Chairmen), Ajay Langer- convener and other members of the Federation.
