JAMMU, Feb 20: A delegation of Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) met the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra at Chandigarh last evening and submitted him a memorandum on behalf of Jammu industry.
The delegation led by Lalit Mahajan, co-chairman of FOIJ and president BBIA, and assisted by Parvinder Singh Jaggi secretary BBIA and others presented a memorandum to the Union Minister, seeking his special attention towards the problems being faced by Jammu industry. Mr Mahajan discussed all the issues with Mr Mishra, highlighted in the memorandum.
Mr Mahajan demanded restoration of 100 % Central Excise refund to new units as well as to the existing units under the substantial expansion / modernization and technical upgradation programme for next ten years from the date of production even in the GST regime also. And GST/CGST exemption may be extended on the same pattern to the industrial sector as applicable on date. He pointed out that in the proposed GST Act Service Tax announced has been included where as in J&K no service tax is applicable at preset, so State Industries should be kept out of this burden in GST regime.
The FOIJ also demanded Income Tax holidays for next 10 years to all the new units and the existing as well, under Substantial Expansion Programme with exemption from MAT, extension of DIPP package of incentive for 10 years which is going to be expired in June 2017, development of infrastructure especially pertaining to power supply, ease of doing business, setting up of Mother Industry in J&K State, compulsory purchase by Central Govt/ Public Sector Undertakings from MSME sector, enhancement of Limit in Credit Guarantee Scheme from Rs one crore to Rs 2 crore, implement Public Procurement Policy in transparent manner and provide adequate staff in MSME offices.
