Focus on Pre Pry Education to strengthen foundation of students: Samoon to teachers

JAMMU, June 30: Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today asked teachers to focus more on pre-primary education so as to strengthen the foundation of early childhood and imparting right education at right time in order to generate a learned society.
Dr Samoon also emphasized on adopting NCERT frameworks more extensively especially for lower classes in Government schools. He suggested the Ampersand Group to nominate some of the best participants and sponsor them to provide hands on experiences at other parts of country as a part of capacity building as generally, teachers remain confined within four walls of schools.
The Principal Secretary was speaking during valedictory function of a five-day long online Professional Development Program on Pre Primary Education organized under Samagra Shiksha. The program was conducted in association with Ampersand Group of Mumbai which is a leading Education Provider in country and abroad. Forty participants working in different Government schools of Kashmir attended this unique webinar based program.
Director School Education, Kashmir- Younis Malik who also attended the function, suggested that existing infrastructure including that of DIETs and SIEs can be utilized for conducting such trainings on larger scales in future after the prevailing conditions improve.
Dr Arun Manhas, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, while congratulating the participants, thanked Ampersand Group and Director School Education Kashmir for all cooperation and coordination they rendered to make this program a true success.
Later, Dr Reeta Sonawat informed that during the 5-day program she focused on both emotional and theoretical approaches, and also discussed different methods of Pedagogy for early childhood. She urged teachers to focus on 3 mantras while dealing with kids- ‘Explore’, ‘Experiment’ and ‘Discover’.
In the end, Rustom Kerawala, founder and CEO of Ampersand Group, said that being a member of corporate sector and educational services, he would be happy to invest in J&K and is always ready to render his support for hilly regions like J&K.
