JAMMU, May 22: Continuing with their protest on 8th day, Female Multipurpose Health Workers under the supervision of Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, today took out a protest march to the office of Divisional Commis-sioner, Jammu.
Hundreds of FMPHWs participated in the protest march and raised slogans in support of their demands, which include releasing of their pending salaries and solve the issue of salary under 2211 head once for all.
Later, a delegation of FMPHWs led by Sushil Sudan along with Neelam Kumari, general secretary, FMPHWs’ association and others senior leaders of JKMEF met MK Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and discussed with him the burning issue of 2211 head and pending salaries of FMPHWs.
Bhandari gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured best of his efforts in resolving the issue. He immediately called the concerned authorities of Finance Department and pressed hard to speed up the process as the employees are already suffering beyond their limits.
Meanwhile, in Kathua district also, Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) took out a protest rally. Amid slogans, large number of FMPHWs assembled outside Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office and marched towards DC Office under the banner of JKMEF and FMPHWs’ Association.
They alleged that it is matter of shame that during the last seven days the FMPHWs are sitting on dharna and no one from Government side came to listen their issues.
Later, the protesting female health workers submit a memorandum to Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua in support of their demands.
