POONCH, May 18: The Female Multi Purpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) working in the District Hospital today staged a protest in front of the office of district Chief Medical Officer (CMO) demanding early release of their pending salaries.
A large number of FMPHWs assembled in front of the office of district CMO and raised slogans in support of their demands, which included release of their pending salaries. The protesting FMPHWs said that they are without salary for last 10 months due to which they are on the verge of starvation.
They warned the district Administration to resolve their issue within a week otherwise they will be left with no option other than going on hunger strike.
They also demanded that time bound promotion to male multipurpose workers be also revoked as there in no difference in FMPHW and MMPHW and most of the Junior MMPHWs has got promotion in the department and the FMPHWs are ignored by the higher authority.
They gave ultimatum to the department to resolve their issues as earliest as possible so that they can work efficiently.
Prominent among others who joined the protest were Balbir Singh from District Emloyees Federation, Ravinder Singh from District Clerks’ Association, Surinder Singh from District Medical Technocrats and FMPHWs– Raj Rani, Parveen Akhter, Sunita Rani, Jagbeer Kour and others.
