FMHWA protest enters 44th day

JAMMU, Oct 9: The ongoing protest demonstration of Female Multipurpose Health Workers Association (FMHWA) here today entered day 44.
The Association is demanding to delink the CSS salary from the funding sources and to clear the DPC of FMPHW as LHV etc.
The protesters demanded that job functions of FMPHWs must be fixed at par other working categories in health sector.
Their other demands included up-gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech, X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophthalmic Tech.
Creation of post of LHVs in New PHCs and posting of seniority list of FMPHWs on the official website of health department for bringing transparency in promotions was among other demands.
Still more demands of protesting Association were 50 per cent quota to be allotted in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHW promoted as Health Educators and amendment of SRO-20 dated 20-04-1992 which is pending in the administrative department for the last many years.
Revised pay grade for FMPHW cadre was also among the demands of these protesters.
Prominent among those who were present in the protest were Neelam Kumari, Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta, Mamta Devi and others.
The protesters appealed to all the MLAs, MLCs and other political leader to intervene into the matter and meet the Governor regarding their demands.
