POONCH, Sept 25: After heavy rain and flash flood in a local Nallah, water entered several shops at Surankote town market this evening.
Official sources said that there was heavy rain in the area this evening. It caused flash flood in the local Nallah and drains were also overflooded in the town. Near Sub District Hospital Surankote and Grameen bank and few other places including ward number 11 Power House, the flood water wreaked havoc. The flash flood water entered several houses and shops and caused damage to the public property.
During recent past also there was massive flash flood in Surankote town and public property worth crores was damaged.
As per the locals and Rohit Verma, Medical shop owner water entered in some shops also causing damage to the goods.
SDM Naiem- Un-Nissa Bhatti said that no loss was reported so far. On asking about illegal encroachment, she said that directions have been passed to give notice to all for dismantling illegal structures within seven days otherwise, administration will start anti- encroachment drive.
