RAMBAN, May 20: Police here today under the supervision of SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar has foiled bovine smuggling attempts and registered six FIRs, arrested five bovine smugglers, rescued 73 bovines and seized six vehicles for their involvement in the crime.
Cops from Police Station Chanderkote intercepted a vehicle and during its checking found seven bovines loaded in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. One was person in this regard.
In another instance cops from Police Station Ramban intercepted three vehicles and during their checking found 53 bovines loaded in them in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. Two persons were arrested in this regard while driver of one vehicle managed to escape.
In another instance, cops from Police Station Ramsoo intercepted two vehicles and during their checking found 13 bovines loaded in these vehicles in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally. Two persons were arrested in this regard.
Thus a total of 73 bovines were rescued under the operation Kamdhenu.
Subsequently, FIR No. 72/2024 was registered at Police Station Chanderkote, FIR No.110/2024, 111/2024 and 112/2024 at Police Station Ramban, FIR No. 68/2024 and 69/2024 at Police Station Ramsoo, under relevant Sections of law.
Investigation has been initiated into these cases.
