JAMMU, Oct 15: Satwari police arrested five gamblers along with Rs 2,430 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Satwari police station conducted raid in Satwari Cantt area and arrested five gamblers.
Police recovered Rs 2,430 stake money and playing cards from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Yog Raj, son of Yash Pal, Shammi Kumar, son of Trilok Chand, Ravi Kumar, son of Yash Pal, trio residents of Narwal Pain, Santokh Raj, son of Isher Dass of Chatha and Madan Gopal, son of Kirtan Kumar of Ashok Nagar.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against the accused at Satwari police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Sachin Gupta, SP South Uday Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
