JAMMU, Oct 3: Narwal police arrested five persons along with stake money of Rs 5,600 and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Narwal police post conducted raid in Transport Nagar area and arrested five smugglers along with Rs 5,600 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Sukh Ram, son of Sat Paul of Baga-e-Bahu, Raju, son of Raghubir Singh of Gota Thali, Tanveer Ahmed Wani, son of Rashid Wani of Tral, Srinagar, Manohar Lal, son of Manga Ram of Sunderbani and Rahul Kumar, son of Jatta Singh of Hari Singh Nagar, Kangra.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against them at Narwal police post and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Vishal Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Naveen Angral, SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Uday Bhaskar Billa and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
