RAMBAN, Jan 23: Police today caught red handed five persons smoking in public places at Chanderkote bazaar and booked them under Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).
Police spokesman said that, five persons namely Javid Ahmed, son of Mumtaz Ahmed of Lower Munda, Qazigund, Muzaffar Ali, son of Rasham Ali of Kunfur, Chanderkote, Ajay Singh, son of Raghu Nath of Dundrath, Mastan Ali, son of Muffaz Ali of Kunfur Chanderkote and Shib Kumar, son of Ram Krishan of Pali Morh, Kathua were smoking in public places.
All were booked under 4/ 21 COTPA and were produced in the court of law, where they were fined Rs 200 each, he added.
