Five arrested for sacrilegious act in Bantalab

JAMMU, Sept 7: Acting swiftly and to defuse the tension, which arose due to sacrilegious act in Bantalab, Domana police arrested five persons including four employees of a cattle farm.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Jammu Rural Mohan Lal Kaith five persons have been arrested in the sacrilegious act, which had taken place in Bantalab yesterday.
The accused have been identified as Haji Babbu of Bantalab, George and Satpal, both residents of Muthi, Ramesh of Budhal and Amin. Haji Babbu is the owner of the cattle farm and four others are employees, he added.
A case under FIR number 338/2014 under Section 298-A RPC has been registered against the accused at Domana Police Station and further investigation into the case started.
Police team headed by SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar along with SHO Domana Police Station Jai Pal Sharma and Incharge Police Post Chinore PSI Deepak Katoch made the arrests.
Meanwhile, the business establishments in Bantalab and nearby areas remained closed in protest against the incident. After negotiation between police and prominent citizens of the Bantalab, the business establishments were opened.
The activists of BJYM led by its mandal president Rinku Chouhan held protest against this sacrilegious act at Janipur and blocked  the road. The protestors were demanding strict action against the arrested accused.
As reported, a sacrilegious act had taken place in Bantalab yesterday over which people of Bantalab and allied areas held protest and blocked the vehicular movement on Jammu-Akhnoor highway.
On getting information, police team from Domana Police Station and Chinore Police Post rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the protestors. Police restored to teargas shelling and lathicharge to disperse the protestors.
Additional SP Rural ML Kaith and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand also rushed to the spot and assured the protestors that the culprits behind the act will be arrested soon and strict action will be initiated against them.
