First Pakistan Show in Amritsar from May 8

 

AMRITSAR, May 6: In an effort to improve bilateral trade opportunities and people-to-people contact, Indian will host the first ever ‘Pakistan Show’ from May 8 to 12 here.

Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise the five-day-long ‘Pakistan Show’ which is expected to increase business opportunities between the two countries.

Over 75 exhibitors will showcase the best of Pakistan including the popular Pakistani onyx marble, textiles, dry fruits, carpets, jewellery, home appliances, crockery, quilts, wrought iron furniture, besides a special food court being put up by them.

President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Sohail Lashari said, “people to people contact was must to bring peace and harmony in Indo-Pak relations and trade can play an important role in this direction.”

“More and more avenues and events need to be created which give the people of both the countries opportunities to come together, participate and take back the fresh and first hand impressions of the people’s perceptions on either side,” Lashari told reporters here.

He said there has been a significant increase in cross border travel from India to Pakistan and vice versa in the recent past.
