First of its kind “Mahayagya” at Sohanjana from Dec 25

JAMMU, Sept 23 : A first of its kind “Gou Gopal Mahayagya” is being solemnized at Holy Samadhi Sathal of Shri Dewarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj in Sohanjana from December 25 to January 05, 2013.
Giving details of this mega spiritual event during a media conference here at Jammu on Sunday, Swami Shri Ganga Dhar Ji Maharaj, young saint and direct disciple of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj, informed that with a motive to restore peace in the world, a grand “108 Kundiya Mahayagya” is going to be organized in a highly sanctified natural surroundings in Sohanjana in the month of December this year, where about 108 cows would be donated on the last day of the Yagya.
“This mega religious event will witness participation of renowned saints and religious scholars from Holy Kaashi, Barindaban, Mathura and other States of the country,” he said, adding, “Spiritual discourses and recitation of Vedic Hymns during this 11-day long religious programme will energize the atmosphere, which will help in protection of environment as well as creating positive change in the minds of people all around.”
“Worship and performing of pooja of Lord Krishna along with holy cows daily during the days of Mahayagya will be main attractions of the programme,” Swami Ji apprised and added further, “The Yagya will commence with performing of Kalash Yatra ritual on December 25, which will also coincide with sacred Rath Yatra being taken out from Holy Samadhi Sathal of Maharaj Shree every year.”
Referring to importance of “Gou Daan” in Hindu religion, he said, “Lord Krishna used to donate about 11,484 cows every day, which though not possible today, but it is need of the hour that we take sincere initiative for protection of cows and make people aware of her value in day-to-day life.”
“Our Maharaj Shree has also highlighted the value of performing Holy Yagna, where he, in his discourses, use to lay stress on it’s performing by learned Pandits and Brahmans,” Swami Gangadhar Ji further said.
To explain importance of performing Holy Yagyana, he also recited some verses from Shree Madbhagwat Geeta and explained their meaning too.
He also appealed to people from all walks of life and faiths in general while devotees in particular to take part in the “Mahayagya” wholeheartedly to make it a grand success.
