First Lady visits Raghunath Temple, prays for peace in J&K

JAMMU, Mar 25: First Lady Neelam Sinha, wife of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, along with her daughter today paid obeisance and performed Pooja at famous Raghunath ji Temple and prayed for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
This was her maiden visit to this important religious place of the Union Territory which also holds great significance as far as tourism point of view is concerned.
The Head Priest of Raghunath Temple briefed the First Lady about the history of temple and its significance in contributing into the rich culture and heritage of J&K. He said that no visitor of Jammu leaves the city without paying obeisance at Raghunath Temple. “Such is the sanctity of this temple that all the wishes of people are fulfilled here”, he said, adding that people living in vicinity of walled city come for prayers on daily basis.
Earlier, president of Dharmarth Trust, Ajay Gandotra accorded warm welcome to the First Lady and apprised her of the temple premises and functioning of Dharmarth Trust, which is looking after the affairs of Raghunath Temple besides several others temples in the J&K UT since last over 100 years. He told the First Lady about the dedication of the Dharmarth Trust in up keeping various temples and shrines in the region and giving state of art facilities to devotees visiting these religious destinations.
