JAMMU, July 10: The first ever international Faculty Development Programme (FDP) organized by Government College of Education in collaboration with Grand Academic Portal, Gujarat and Hindu University of Indonesia, Bali on the theme “Creativity, Innovation and Institution Building” concluded today.
The 10-day programme covered a wide range of topics pertinent to higher education and resource persons were roped in from diverse fields. They addressed to issues like the technological changes, e-content development, types of learners, MOOC, digital tools, scientific research writing, cyber crime, besides emotional intelligence, Ayurveda for self discovery, women’s health and creative writing etc.
Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department Talat Parvez Rohella applauded the efforts of the organizing team and said that the Higher Education Department of UT of J&K shall always promote efforts that keep higher education in sync with the current needs of the society.
Patron of the event Dr Sangita Nagari (Ex-Principal GCoE and present Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar) also addressed the virtual gathering. In her address, she congratulated the organizing team for successfully conducting the event of first of its kind in higher education and hoped that the college will continue such innovative trends in near future.
Dr Kulvinder Kour, the present Principal of the College of Education also appreciated the efforts of the team and Grand Academic Portal and Hindu University of Bali for coming together and providing plethora of information to the faculty members through virtual medium. She hoped that the practical approach of the programme must have made the participants more skillful now in handling the digital tools for online classes.
Dr Zubair Kales (Convener), Prof Shalini Rana, HOD English , Dr Shubhra Jamwal (Organizing Secretary), Dr Prabhjot Kour and Prof Shapia Shameem, the organizing team thanked the participants and the collaborators for their enthusiastic participation.
Dr Preeti Oza (GAP Director ) highlighted the entire activities of the GAP and its contribution towards the field of academicians where as Prof Anita Sharma from Shimla University deliberated on the various issues being faced by academicians.
Prof. Shalini Rana thanked the GAP Director Dr Preeti Oza and Dr Gurudutta Japee (Chairman GAP) for providing the best resource persons for FDP from Universities of Indonesia, Iran and Kuwait, besides experts from universities of Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, Gujarat, Jaipur , Madhya Pradesh and Shimla.
