First Education Minister Azad remembered on National Education Day

JAMMU, Nov 11: To commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, different educational institutions here today celebrated National Education Day.
This year’s theme for National Education Day is ‘Skill Awareness and Empowerment’ especially in the light of NEP-2020.
Government Degree College Vijaypur celebrated National Education Day and remembered the services of India’s first Education Minister, freedom-fighter, scholar and eminent educationist, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Floral tributes were paid to Azad and his contributions in nation building, institution building and particularly his indelible imprints in the field of education were remembered. Online lecture on ‘Communication Skills, Personality Development & Art of Speaking’ was also held on this occasion. Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College exhorted that importance of establishing good communication is critical in student’s development and future learning.
Government Degree College, Jindrah also celebrated National Education Day wherein a symposium on ‘Contribution of eminent educationist, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and various advancements of National Education Policy 2020′ was held under the guidance of College Principal, Prof Raj Shree Dhar. The students and staff spoke on the occasion and winners of the symposium Manisha, Latief and Palak were given prizes. Organizers of the symposium were Prof. Poonam Rainu, Dean Students’ Welfare and Dr. Vikesh, Physical Director. The Jury members were Prof. Ashaq Chaudhary, Prof. Jasneet, Prof. Chanchal Singh and Dr. Seema.
Government PG College Rajouri celebrated National Education Day and a seminar on ‘New Initiative of Higher Education’ was organized on this occasion. Speakers in the seminar threw light on life and contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College Prof (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina said, Bharat Ratana Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was architect of modern education system in India and there is urgent need to carry forward his vision to transform India by hard work, dedication and honesty. Dr. Ashaq Malik, Secretary of College’s Science Club gave a Power Point presentation on NEP-2020. A documentary on Moulana Abul Kalam Azad was also shown during the programme.
