First batch of Medical Graduates from GMC Rajouri passout

JAMMU, May 25: In a major achievement for Health and Medical Education Department, Govt of Jammu and Kashmir, GMC Rajouri created history by achieving hundred percent result in the Final year MBBS, declared by University of Jammu. This is the first batch of Doctors produced successfully by the newly established medical college in the border district Rajouri.
Secretary to Government HME, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, has congratulated the students and the administration of GMC Rajouri for their remarkable performance. Speaking on the occasion Principal GMC Rajouri Prof (Dr) A S Bhatia congratulated all the students and appreciated their persistence to achieve academic excellence inspite of being the first batch in the newly established college and sometimes had to face many unseen difficulties during their stay.
He gave credit for this outcome to all HoDS and their faculty members of the institution who guided the students throughout their course. With passing out of these hundered students, the college is going to start internship programme, which will also be the first batch of interns at Rajouri and with induction of these hundered doctors the manpower will be greatly boosted which will help in further improving the existing health care delivery system. The role of Medical Superintendent Dr Mehmood Hassan Bazar was lauded by the college administration as he has to his credit of being the first MS of the college when these students took admission and now it was again under his tenure that the same batch was passing out.
All leproscopic surgeries have been introduced in all surgical branches, Blood Component Lab, De addiction facility, Thalaseamia clinic, MoU with many National and International organization has been taken on war footing to bring latest in medical field to Rajoui along with massive plantation drive to prevent soil erosion in the Hills of Mehra campus are some major achievements of the college in recent past due to untiring and selfless efforts of the faculty, paramedics and other supportive staff.
