Firing in J&K : Rajnath reviews situation

491835-485057-450051-rajnath4NEW DELHI : Against the backdrop of fresh firing in Badgam district of Jammu and Kashmir and prevailing curfew in parts of the valley, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the situation in the troubled state.
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, Director Intelligence Bureau and other high-ranking officers attended the meeting that took place in the North Block here this morning.
At least four people were killed and some others injured in fresh firing by security forces during a demonstration in the central Kashmir district of Budgam this morning.
Several areas in the valley are under curfew for more than 35 days and protests and demonstration during the period have so far claimed 64 lives. (AGENCIES)
