JAMMU, Mar 16: A fire broke out this evening in a room of PG Boys Hostel of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, opposite KC Theatre.
According to a police spokesperson, at about 6:30 this evening, a fire broke out in Room No 303 C of PG Boys Hostel of GMC, when its occupant had gone to one of his friend’s room in the same hostel.
As soon as other inmates of the hostel detected flames coming from the locked room, they informed the occupant of the room and called fire tenders.
On getting information, fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames. No one was hurt in the fire, as the room was closed. However, some clothes, books and other things of day-to-day use kept in the room burnt in the fire.
The police spokesman said that the cause of the fire was not known immediately.
