KATHUA, Apr 29: The fire has engulfed three dense jungles in Kandi belt of Kathua district this evening falling at a distance of one kilometer from each other.
According to reports the fire engulfed Janglot, Khrot and Kanyari forest belt eight kilometers from here this evening razing trees, of Shesham, Kheer and medicinal plants including bushes to ground.
Till last reports came no control has been made on fire though Forest and police teams have rushed to the respective spots.
Meanwhile forest area in Kandi belt of Mehroli near an Army depot here also caught fire this evening. However no loss of life has been reported from any where. The people have however expressed concern over the failure of authorities in restoring the PHE refilling Station at Parliwand Kathua where from the fire tenders are being refilled with water for controlling fire especially in Kandi area.
