POONCH, Sept 30: The police has registered a case against suspended Judicial Clerk, Azeem Maqbool, posted in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri for forging and tampering permission for the transportation of bovine animals to Kashmir via Mughal Road.
A senior police official said that Surankote police has registered a case FIR No. 176/2014, under Sections 353, 468 & 471 RPC against the accused person. He said that after receiving a letter from the office of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri on Monday, an FIR has been registered in this connection. He said the clerk will be arrested soon and subjected to sustained questioning.
Meanwhile, Dy Commissioner Rajouri, Jatinder Kumar Singh has clarified that the Judicial clerk of his office, against whom immediate action was taken by him after receiving information of tampering a letter, was not posted for many years in his office. He said that the clerk was posted there on April 29, 2014. He said soon after an information about fake permission was received, the said clerk was placed under suspension.
Referring to the police allegations of non-cooperation, the DC claimed that team had delivered a letter from DySP Surankote along with a letter of alleged forged permission letter. Since the action against the judicial clerk had already been initiated and the room of Judicial section was sealed, therefore, it was not appropriate to speak about the forged unless it is verified. The DM also refuted the allegations that police party was abused by any of his officer or made to wait for long.
Mr Singh said transportation of bovine animals is totally banned. However, permissions are granted after properly verifying and wherever, required.
