Leh, July 23: Ladakh Police has registered an FIR against a Sitting Councillor who reportedly got involved in a fight with a Police officer on duty.
As per report a heated argument broke out between the BJP Councilor Mirza Hussain and ASI of Police, Mohd Hussain over parking issue and Councilor reportedly punched the police officer. As per medical report the police officer reportedly got minor injuries and FIR No 194/2021 U/S 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) IPC registered against Chuchot, Councillor Mirza Hussain.
SSP Leh, Rajiv Pandey confirmed that case has been registered against the sitting councilor. He also confirmed that Police had served notice to the accused Councilor for his appearance.
Meanwhile, repeated attempt to reach the Councilor fail as he Councilor didn’t respond to calls. It may be recalled that similar incident was also reported few month ago at NDS ground over parking issue involving the same councilor with police on duty.
