NEW DELHI, May 8: Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against Austrian national Peter Haag, the husband of Bollywood actress and former Miss India Celina Jaitly, on the charges of alleged cruelty and harassment among others.
The UNI is in possession of the First Information Report copy.
Speaking with the UNI, the legal team of Jaitly confirmed about the development.
The FIR has been registered under Sections 85, 115(2), 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, in connection with allegations including cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation, and harassment.
Proceedings are also ongoing under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
Mumbai Police have reportedly issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Peter Haag, citing alleged non-cooperation in the investigation. However, an official statement from Mumbai Police on the LOC was not immediately available.
Celina Jaitly is being represented by a legal team from Karanjawala & Co., including advocates Sandeep Kapur, Niharika Karanjawala Misra, and Rytim Vohra Ahuja, according to the statement.
Peter Haag is being represented by the legal team of CMS Induslaw.
No response from Peter Haag or his legal representatives regarding the allegations was immediately available.
