FIR lodged against Ranger, Forest Guards for beating up tourist family

RAJOURI, Feb 2: As a local family on excursion to picnic spot Dera Ki Gali was allegedly beaten up by Ranger Bafliaz and some Forest Guards, Thanamandi Police has registered a case against the Forest officials.
A case FIR under section 341, 323,294,504 and 506 has been registered against Ranger Bafliaz, Nissar Hussain and some Forest Guards for allegedly beating up Imran of Ward number 8, Rajouri and his wife, who along with other family members had gone for an excursion to Dera Ki Gali today.
Reports said that the victim family had reached near a Forest Guest House where they were resisted by the Forest Guards from entering the area. Even as the family said that they just wanted to have an outside glimpse of the Guest House, which is a public property, the Forest Guards did not entertain their plea following which there was some verbal dual between both the sides.
Meanwhile, Ranger Bafliaz Nissar Hussain, came out of the Guest House and allegedly thrashed Imran besides abusing him. As Imran’s wife attempted to rescue her husband, she was also manhandled by the Ranger and Forest Guards, reports said adding that the victim family was rescued by some Army officials, who were deployed in a nearby post and reached the spot.
Later the victim family lodged a written complaint against the Forest officials at Police Station Thanamandi following which FIR number 25, under various sections was registered against the Ranger and Forest Guards. However, no arrest was made till filing of the report.
