JAMMU, Sept 15: Financial as well as other assistance from various states continued to pour in for flood affected Jammu and Kashmir.
The Jharkhand government today decided to provide Rs five crore as relief for flood-affected Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the relief fund after flagging off three trucks carrying 40,000 blankets for the flood victims of J&K.
He also appealed to the government employees to donate a day’s salary for the relief work in the state which witnessed the worst floods in more than a century.
Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today announced in the Assembly an assistance of Rs 1 crore as contribution from his Government to flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir for relief works.
He made the announcement suo moto in the House after zero hour, referring to the pleas from ruling and opposition members that Puducherry contribute for the relief works.

Troops and officers of paramilitary CISF today pledged to donate a day’s salary in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. The force, which is tasked to secure vital installations in public and private sectors, will deposit the amount soon.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) chief Arvind Ranjan announced the decision in this regard and said the force stood by the victims in their hour of tragedy. The CISF has 1.47 lakh personnel in its ranks.
In a bid to provide monetary relief to students hailing from flood ravaged Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand Government today said it would pay three months fees of those studying in educational institutes of the state.
According to CMO media incharge Surendra Kumar, a decision to this effect was taken by Chief Minister Harish Rawat to provide some monetary relief to students from the flood-hit state.
