JAMMU, Feb 10: There has been wide spread condemnation of Fidayeen attack on Army camp at Sunjwan near, here early this morning with people demanding that Pakistan be taught a lesson once for all for its misadventures against India.
The activists of various political parties and social organisations also held protest demonstrations in the Jammu city and outskirts to condemn the Fidayeen attack and demanded action against neighbouring country. They also accused the Union and State Government of their total failure in containing the terrorism in the State and infiltration of Fidayeen from across the border and termed the attack on Army camp a major security lapse and intelligence failure.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad has strongly condemned the dastardly act of Fidayeen who attacked the army camp at Sunjwan this morning resulting in martyrdom of two brave Army men and injuries to others including family members of Army personnel.
In a strong worded statement issued here, today the senior Congress leader termed it a barbaric act.
He said the terrorists have acted in a cowardice way and attacked the families of soldiers and children who were innocent.
He said people from all shades of opinion have condemned this barbaric act and by these cowardice acts the terrorist can’t achieve any thing as India is strong enough to frustrate the designs of forces inimical to it.
Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh while strongly condemning the dastardly act of Fidayeen asked “ where are the Kashmir apologists who are always ready to tweet even on subjects not remotely connected with them” but who neither have courage nor conviction to utter a word of condemnation against Pakistan.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has also strongly condemned the barbaric act of the terrorists who attacked the family quarters in army camp Sunjwan this morning.
Dr Singh in a strong worded statement said this way Pakistan which is directly involved in terrorist attacks and violence in J&K for last three decades has been fully exposed before the world community.
He said by targeting the family members and children of army personnel, Pakistan has shown that it has no respect for human values and it is a rouge State which can go to any extent in barbarism. He warned Pakistan not to take wrong advantage of India’s patience and recalled the defeat which the neighboring country tasted in four conventional wars with India.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) president and former Chief Ministers, Dr Farooq Abdullah and working president, Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the dastardly and cowardly attack by terrorists on Sunjwan Army Camp. They expressed solidarity with the families of the Army officer and jawan who died in line of his duty.
In a joint statement, Dr Abdullah and Omar Abdullah conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
Saying that terrorism has no religion, provincial president NC, Devender Singh Rana observed the cult of violence has no place in a civilized society.
Rana condemned the attack while describing it a gruesome act and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. He conveyed condolences to them and prayed for peace of the departed souls.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the Fidayeen attack at Army Camp at Sunjwan today and expressed deep shock over the casualties of two Army Jawans till last reports.
In a statement JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmed Mir and senior leaders of Party have strongly condemned the militant attack on Military Station at Sunjwan in which two army personnel have been martyred and four others are injured. PCC leaders described the attack as highly condemnable and an act of great provocation by the militants and their mentors across the border. The attack needs to be condemned in the strongest possible words.
They paid rich tributes to the martyrs Sub. Madan Lal Choudhary and Sub. Mohammed Ashraf Mir and expressed deep sympathies with their families. They commended the forces for eliminating a terrorist so far.
Other senior leaders include CLP Leader N. Rigzin Jora, Sr. vice-president Sham Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, Vikram Malhotra, Yogesh Sawhney, S. Manjeet Singh, Shabir Ahmad Khan, Namrata Sharma, Th. Balwan Singh, Ch. Shah Nawaz Ch. Shah Mohd and Anil Chopra.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also condemned the Fidayeen attack on Army camp in Sunjwan. The party in a statement said “though with gallant fight by army terrorists were neutralized but in the process there was unfortunate loss of precious life from our side”. This shows utter frustration with Pakistan who wanted to divert attention of World about their own internal failures.
Sunil Sethi, Chief Spokesperson of State Unit of the Party said that circumstances do reveal that it could have been executed with local aid and help and as such it is imperative to investigate and apprehend all such persons. He said role of Rohingiya settlers near Sunjwan area is also required to be seriously investigated and it is no time to protect persons inimical to country in the name of religion.
Sethi further noted that it is unfortunate that at the time when terrorists trained and sent from across were attacking Army camp and our armed forces were fighting them, NC leader and former Speaker, Akbar Lone choose to raise slogan in favour of Pakistan. He said the stand and stance of NC stood exposed and it is eye opener for people of Jammu and particularly voters of Nagrota and Arnia constituencies who voted for the Party and whose representative remained mum when Akbar Lone was uttering words against interest of the nation.
The BJP State Mahila Morcha led by its State president Purnima Sharma staged a strong protest against Pakistan for its involvement in terrorism related incidents in the State especially in the wake of today’s Fidayeen attack on the Army Camp in the Sunjwan area of Jammu. Mahila Morcha activists also burnt the effigy of Pakistan and raised anti-Pakistan slogans.
India should give befitting reply to enemy across border said Congress leaders while condemning terrorist attack at Sunjwan, causing human killing and termed this incident coupled with border firing as “unfortunate”.
Congress leaders also expressed serious concern over the Pro-Pakistan slogans by a senior Legislator of a local political party and urged the party leadership to shun future relations with such political parties to ensure that the youth of J&K are engaged to work for unity, integrity and sovereignty of nation by bringing them in national mainstream.

JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh has also strongly condemned the dastardly act. Singh also conveyed his condolences to bereaved families martyred JCO and Army jawan and praised the valour of security personnel in thwarting the dangerous plans of the rouge country.
The K P Sabha Jammu President K.K. Khosa also condemned the terror strike on the army camp in Sunjwan in which brave heart soldiers were martyred. This is a serious lapse of security which raises serious question of safety of the citizens of J&K. Even more condemnable is the highly antinational slogan raised Mohd. Akbar Lone MLA of the National Conference which is tantamount to sedition and for which proceedings in the court of law should be started against him after arresting him at once. The sabha appeals the State Govt. and the Govt. of India to take stringent action against the harbourers and over ground supporters of these terrorists without whose support this kind of an attack was not possible.
Condemning the Pak sponsored ‘Fidayeen attack’ on Army Camp at Sunjwan in Jammu during which reportedly a JCOs and a jawan was martyred and several injured besides the fast deteriorating security situation in J&K due to BJP-PDP coalition’s gross failures and mal-governance, scores of Panther activists led by Gagan Pratap Singh State secretary JKNPP, Neeraj Gupta its zonal president and Parshotam Parihar, State secretary and other leaders staged a strong protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground here today.
The infuriated protesters set ablaze the effigy of Pakistan and sought that the rogue nation should be declared a terrorist State. The NPP leaders also demanded imposition of the Governor’s rule in the State in the wake of worsening security situation and the prevailing anarchy.
Former MLC. Vikramaditya Singh strongly condemned the tragic and deplorable terror attack at the Sunjwan Army camp in Jammu. He said to target the families of officers and jawans including women and children goes to show that terror has no bounds. He urged public figures not to indulge in politics at a time like this and stand solidly behind the nation and its Army. Vikramaditya said that he was certain that the Government of India and the Indian Army would deliver a suitable response at an appropriate time.
K P Singh, organiser of Tanda Tiger Force has also strongly condemned the attack on army camp and demanded a probe into security lapses to find the facts about the Fidayeen that where from they came to Jammu.
National Secular Forum (NSF) held strong protest demonstration here, today under the leadership of its chief, Dr. Vikas Sharma against terrorist attack on Army Camp in the outskirts of Jammu at Sunjwan in the wee hours today and vociferously condemned the cowardly attempt of Pakistan to vitiate peaceful atmosphere in Jammu division.
While addressing the protesters, Dr Vikas Sharma alleged that 70 year old appeasement policy adopted towards Kashmir on the analogy of successive Congress governments by the Centre has been ultimately responsible for total chaos and confusion in the security scenario with BJP Government obliquely seems to be at a loss to understand as how to treat the malice of deep rooted terrorism in J&K State.
Shiv Sena ( Bala Sahib Thackery) today strongly criticizes N.D.A Government’s foreign policy and said that Modi Government’s foreign policy is totally a failure and this is the main reason behind the terrorist attacks.
State vice president of Shiv Sena, Rajan Gupta , and other leaders Raj Singh, Raju Salaria, Pawan Singh, and Sanjeev Sudan in a statement said that “we are very much concerned with these type of terrorist attacks and Pakistan is behind this all,. They said that our brave soldiers are losing their lives in these deadly attacks while Government is doing nothing to teach Pakistan a lesson”.
State president of Janata Dal, United , G M Shaheen condemned the terror attack on Sunjuwan Army Camp in Jammu killing an Army Officer and injuring others including civilians. Terming the attack as dastardly, Shaheen said that the violence had taken a heavy toll in terms of death and destruction, inflicting massive economic and social losses besides that the irreparable loss of human lives. He also paid rich tributes to the officer killed in the attack and conveyed his sympathies with the bereaved family.
Shamsher Hakla Poonchi, a prominent Gujjar leader and an intellectual of the State strongly condemned the attack on Sunjuwan Army camp and Army family quarters by the Fidayeen this morning.
Hakla, said that attack on Army family quarters at Sunjuwan and making women, children and other people their target is against the teachings of Islam and Islam in no way gives the permission for this.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri while expressing his anguish over the misadventures of Pakistan which is straight way involved in terrorist violence in J&K said today’s Fiidayen attack is an eye opener for Modi Government and BJP Government at Centre should devise a strong policy to counter terrorism and also give a befitting reply to enemy country by surgical strikes on terrorist camps.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) president, advocate M L Thusu and its convener, PL Kaul Budgami, as well as Trade Union leader and president Magam Bangil Sabha Raj Nath Raina have also strongly condemned the attack and demanded a concrete policy to counter Pak sponsored terrorism in the country. They in a joint statement said that Pakistan has made India to bleed by sending armed desperados first in Punjab and now in J&K so India should shun its weak kneed policy and give a befitting reply to enemy once for all.
President Sampooran Kashmir Sangthan (SKS) Rakesh Kaul has also strongly condemned the attack and said it is high time for GoI to make surgical strikes on terrorist camps across the border and shake the enemy.
All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) while strongly condemning the Fidayeen attack termed it a major intelligence failure and security lapse. In a statement president of the Committee Desh Rattan held the Union as well as State Government also responsible for their soft polices towards secessionists and terrorists.
BJP District president Jammu Rural Omi Khajuria and general secretary Kashmir Displaced District B B Bhat (Gosani) has strongly condemned the Fidayeen attack and the pro Pakistani slogans raised by NC MLA Akbar Lone. The duo has demanded action against Lone under the law.
Janata Dal Secular president Mast Nath Yogi and Bhawan Sharan Sharma senior vice president of the party have also strongly condemned the Pakistan for sponsoring Fidayeen attack on Army Camp and said this way Pakistan was inviting trouble for itself.
Muslim Federation has also strongly condemned the Faidayeen attack on Army Camp. In a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president, Abdul Majeed the Federation said the attack was the handiwork of anti social elements to disturb the peace in Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir State president, Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan while strongly condemning the attack urged Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to take stock of the security situation in the country and ensure that the terrorist attacks on the Indian soil do not recur in future. He also expressed deepest sympathy with bereaved family of Army Officer.
Sehyog Charitable Trust, Chairman Danish Mishra has also expressed his shock over the increasing terrorist attacks in the State and said that today’s Fidayeen attack on Army camp is a cause of concern for all patriotic people of the country. He said it is not time of politicking but of showing total solidarity with security forces to frustrate the designs of enemy.
