CHENNAI, May 18 : Delegations from the industrial associations — FICCI and MCCI — met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday at the Secretariat here and discussed the current industrial scenario in the state.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding measures to be taken to accelerate industrial growth and investment within the state, in alignment with Tamil Nadu’s long-term economic vision, an official release said.
The chief minister appreciated the significant contribution made by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) towards the industrial development of the state.
Furthermore, Vijay attentively listened to the views and recommendations presented by the FICCI delegation and assured them that appropriate steps would be taken to address them.
Additionally, the chief minister also requested that the guidance and recommendations of the delegation continue to be extended in this journey to propel Tamil Nadu into becoming a leading economic powerhouse of the nation.
Those who participated in the meeting included G S K Velu, chairman, FICCI Tamil Nadu state council and Bhupesh Nagarajan and Ashok Varghese, co-chairmen.
The CM, in his meeting with the delegation from the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI), discussed measures to be taken to further simplify business processes in Tamil Nadu, thereby fostering industrial and economic growth within the state.
Vijay lauded the pivotal role played by the MCCI in serving as an effective bridge between the government and the industrial sector.
He also listened to the views and recommendations presented by the MCCI delegation and assured them that appropriate steps would be taken to address the matters. Additionally, he requested the MCCI to continue extending its cooperation and guidance in creating a conducive environment for investors.
The meeting was attended by Ramkumar Shankar, president, MCCI, A Viswanathan, vice president and Saraswathi, secretary general.
The CM met representatives of the CII at the Secretariat on May 15 and discussed the state’s overall industrial growth.
The meetings assume significance as Vijay has begun interacting with industry leaders and key stakeholders just days after taking office as the CM. (PTI)
