This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of eliminating TB from India by 2025 and marks another milestone in FICCI FLO JKL’s ongoing efforts to support TB patients with essential nutritional aid.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr Rakesh Magotra, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Harbaksh Singh, Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr Jyoti Jolly, State Tuberculosis Officer Jammu, Dr Anu Saloch, District Tuberculosis Officer, and Ranjeet Babu, Tuberculosis Officer, who extended their support to this critical health initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Magotra, Director Health Services Jammu, thanked FICCI FLO JKL for coming forward in support of this national cause. He emphasized the need for more such forums and organizations to contribute towards societal well-being. He assured his full support for any future health initiatives that FICCI FLO JKL is committed to and appreciated the organization for not only being an industrial forum but also for its strong commitment to social causes.
Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, emphasized the need for sustained nutritional support in TB treatment. “Tuberculosis remains one of India’s most pressing health challenges. Nutritional support plays a crucial role in ensuring patients adhere to their treatment regimen and recover effectively. This initiative under the Nikshay Poshan Yojna is our way of contributing towards a healthier, TB-free India.”
This latest distribution is a continuation of FICCI FLO JKL’s commitment to TB eradication. Last year, funds raised through the Marathon ‘Run 4 Health’ were used to donate 600 nutrition baskets for 100 TB patients, bringing the total contribution to 1,350 nutrition baskets.
These essential kits include protein-rich items such as pulses, millets, rice, atta, soya, B-complex supplements, and oil, ensuring that patients receive balanced nutrition during their six-month treatment period.
FLO JKL Core Team members present for the distribution were Varuna Anand, Immediate Past Chairperson & Sona Mehta, Treasurer. The organization extends its gratitude to all supporters and stakeholders who have contributed to this cause and remains dedicated to undertaking more such impactful initiatives in the future.
