KISHTWAR, Oct 17: A female drug peddler was arrested today and approximately 109 grams of cannabis (charas) like substance was recovered from her possession.
“During a special naka laid by a team of Police Station Kishtwar led by I/c SHO Inspector Mohd Naseer at Sangrambatta, suspicious movement of one female pedestrian was noticed by the naka party which acted swiftly and overpowered the lady,” a police spokesman said.
He said on checking the belongings of the lady namely Bimla Devi wife of Sanjay Kumar Sharma, resident of Sangrambatta (Kishtwar), cannabis (charas) like substance weighing about 109 g was recovered from her possession and she was taken into custody.
“In this regard, a case FIR number 251/2022 under Section 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and further investigation started,” the spokesman added.
