JAMMU, July 1: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency president, Amit Kapoor has said that J&K administration has failed to improve the standard of education here and check corruption in private schools.
In a press conference here today, Kapoor said that recently an order was issued by J&K Fee Fixation Committee that parents of children studying in private schools of J&K need not pay late fees.
“This order has been brought only to befool the parents as under the directions of Supreme Court, no private school can charge admission fees,” he said adding that capitation and registration fees have also been banned since the time of Corona but instead of following the order of Supreme Court, the private schools now use the name of annual fees to take money from the parents.
The AAP leader said, till now, following orders of Supreme Court, the private schools have not returned the fees to the parents.
“Even today the education infrastructure in J&K is in very bad condition especially in hilly and remote areas as there are even no teachers, no toilets for children and many schools are running without buildings,” he maintained.
Aslam Choudhary, S. Mohinder Pal Singh, Ch. Surinder Chouhan, S. Ranjeet Singh Goldy and Raj Babber were also present in the press conference.
