FCR for prompt disaster management response

JAMMU, Jan 2: Financial Commissioner Revenue Dr. Pawan Kotwal today directed Deputy Commissioners to mobilize their men and machinery to deal with any kind of eventuality owing to adverse weather conditions in the State.
He gave these directions while chairing a meeting of DCs and Revenue officers to review the functioning of the Revenue Department.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner Survey and Land Records Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, DC Kathua Rohit Khajuria, DC Samba, Sushma Chouhan and all other DCs of Jammu and Kashmir Division attended the meeting through Video conferencing.
At the outset, the FCR discussed the utilization of SDRF released to all DCs. He directed the DCs to utilize the funds lying with them and mobilize resources for disaster management. He also asked the DCs to send Utilization Certificates (UCs).
He also asked the DCs of snow affected districts to disburse compensation among beneficiaries whose horticulture crops got damaged due to snowfall.
Meanwhile, the FCR reviewed progress on the digitization of land records. The meeting was informed that the scanning of revenue records in all districts is in progress. The FCR asked the DCs to expedite the process of digitalization of revenue records and complete the process to meet the timelines. He also asked the DCs for deployment of revenue officers to check the quality of scanned records.
Process regarding updation of Jamabandi was also discussed during the meeting. It was informed that the process of Jamabandi updation is in progress in all districts.
