Srinagar, Feb 17: Flood Control Department has failed to remove the earth dug for the construction of concrete retaining walls along the Lar stream in Ratnipora village of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
Worried residents of the village said the earth mounds lying in the stream have shrunk its width and are blocking the water flow downstream.
The Flood Control Department has been constructing retaining walls along the stream banks from the last one year to prevent their bank breaches.
But the department, the residents said, has failed to remove the earth from the stream.
