FC employees without salary for five months

JAMMU, Jan 13: The employees of J&K Forest Corporation are facing starvation as they are without salaries for the last over five months.
An emergency general body meeting of J&K Forest Corporation Employees Forum was held here today to discuss the starving conditions of employees who are without salaries for the last over five months.
The speakers expressed strong resentment and said it is agonising that on this festival of “Lohri” the employees are without salaries and not able to celebrate it. The employees are under heavy debt in the market and even necessary provisional daily use items are denied  by shopkeepers due non clearing of their old liabilities.
The employees are under tremendous psychological pressure. Members of Forum from Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Banihal, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Udhampur and different divisions/ circles of offices at Jammu attended meeting. Some of counterparts from Kashmir joined the meeting through video conference.
The meeting last led more two hours where speakers severely criticised the management for not releasing salary for the last over five months and warned it of severe repurcussions. Suresh Sharma spokesman JKFCEF while in his concluding address questioned the criminal silence maintained by the management over non release of pending salary, deficit DA of 39 p.c and updating pay by release of 7 p.c. Since March onwards the employees are paid salary in piece meals . The employees are being paid about 60 p.c salary that too is pending. The Forum warned to launch agitation if their wages were not released.
