JAMMU, Apr 18: Basharat Mustafa Fazili has assumed the office of Deputy General Manager of Punjab National Bank, J&K Circle.
Son of the soil, Mr. Fazili had started his Banking career by joining banking industry in 1977 & rose through the ranks by becoming Senior Manager in 2000, Chief Manager in 2007 & Assistant General Manager in 2010. He has worked in almost all key segments of banking in various capacities with expertise in Credit, Foreign Exchange, Risk Management etc. at Branches, controlling offices like Amira Kadal & Dalgate in Srinagar, Koushambi in Ghaziabad & Hissar in Haryana.
In his long and brilliant banking career, Mr. Fazili was the Assistant General Manager at Circle Office Hissar, Haryana & thereafter Circle Office Jammu.
A CAIIB with B.Sc background, Mr. Fazili has undergone many prestigious courses like Post Graduate Degree in Financial Advising & Certified Financial Planner from Financial Standard Board of India (FSBI).
After assuming the office, Mr. Fazili said that as Circle Head of Punjab National Bank, J&K Circle, his priorities are to reach out to the people of the state with a soft attitude to provide Credit facilities to them as J&K is different from other Circles. He added that his focus is on MSME for which bank has already started holding regular camps in the state. Along with it, NPA reduction is a big challenge for which special recovery camps would be regularly held. Bank is also planning massive expansion in the state and in next two quarters is expected to open 10 new branches in J&K and process for opening 5 branches at Narwal & Bohri in Jammu, Budgam & Hazratbal in Srinagar, Kargil in Ladakh has already started, he informed.
