JAMMU, June 6: In a tragic incident, father and son duo drowned in Ujh river in tehsil Billawer of Kathua district today. The bodies of both were recovered by locals later on.

The unfortunate incident took place when duo father and son were grazing the cattle near Ujh river. The son started taking a bath to beat the heat in the river but was trapped in deep water. The father jumped in river to rescue him and he also drowned in the gushing waters of the river. The local people nearby raised an alarm and started rescue operation. But it was too late and both were died .
The bodies of duo was fished out by locals later. They were identified as Sewa Ram (71), son of Kasru Ram and his young son Ashok Kumar (28). They were residents of village Badap, Billawer. A police team also reached on the spot and verified the details of incident. Billawer police started investigation into the matter.
